Deaths more than 70 years ago are currently coming online.
Marriages more than 75 years ago are not online until the death index database is completed online.

The North West Territories registered marriages as early as 1878, and 1888 for registering births and deaths. Officially the civil registration began in the province of Saskatchewan in 1905. That being said, the distance to travel from the homestead to the division registrar for the rural municipality of the Indian Agency was not a priority. When it is winter, forty below, and snowfall has blocked the roadways, registering vital statistics was not a common occurrence. Additionally a large number of early residents on the plains did not speak English as their mother tongue. Communications was considerably different from that experienced in contemporary times to both get news out, as well as to collect statistics. Residents in the province of Saskatchewan reported births, deaths, and marriages much more consistently after 1920.
